Such sweet girls. Such a nice family. And we are so fortunate to have them as neighbors on top of it. We did a little mini shoot, a little more posed than I prefer, but we were short on time and you really couldn't walk down the street in a tux and gown. Chris and Mercedes were on their way out to an awards ceremony where Chris was nominated, and he won by the way. Yay! They wanted to document their special night and once you have kids you realize you don't get dressed up like this very often, so photographs are a necessity.

She is very full of life and laughter and knows exactly what she likes. She loved my camera, taking the pictures that is and it took much negotiating to keep her on the other side of my lens. Good thing I have practice at home with Greta. Stacie is what all 3 years should be, exploration and discovery. I loved how the beach was fascinating to her. Squeezing the sand and throwing it at the waves. Really, just a doll.

I shot this beautiful family over summer and they invited me back to photograph them at home. We got rained out and our magnificent plan of hiking was destroyed. But we made due and the grandparents doted on this little boy. He's is just scrumptious, and ON THE MOVE. Seriously, we were movin' the whole time. It was much fun and I love being able to document all the changes the last few months have brought to this little man.

It was so hard to pull her away to head up to the pier for some photos, but she was a good sport and the red balloon didn't hurt! I absolutely love the reflection on the wet sand. It was a morning shoot and the light was so pretty. Really, a pleasure to capture this little girl!

We wanted something outdoors and that meant something special to them. They are fond of the beach and spending time as a family, so we chose Temescal Canyon for a hike and then onto the beach. It was a little challenging because as kids get older it's harder to distract them and they see right through my motives to get them to smile and laugh. But after all, it went great and you see exactly the family they are through these pictures. I L O V E them, and if it wasn't strange to do it, I would probably blow these photos up and put them on MY walls!

They traveled down from San Francisco and we photographed these at Douglas Park in Santa Monica. Jackson was such a trooper and enduring our fussing over his cuteness and wardrobe changes. Liz's sister and niece, Jane and Alissa joined them and I just love the dynamic of their relationship shown through in their photos.

I love that Jane indulged my library backdrop idea. Could not have picked a better place if I do say so myself.
